Gillman Chevrolet GMC of San Benito is seeking a driven and results-focused Internet Sales Consultant to manage inbound internet leads and convert online inquiries into showroom appointments and vehicle sales.
This is not a traditional BDC or hourly role. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a high-accountability, performance-based sales environment with strong earning potential tied directly to results.
$45,000 – $100,000+ annually
Commission-based. Earnings are directly tied to lead handling, appointment performance, and vehicle sales. Top performers can exceed the listed range.
This position is best suited for candidates comfortable with performance-based compensation in a high-reward, high-risk sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
Track, manage, and respond to all inbound internet leads from the dealership website and third-party sources
Execute timely follow-up via phone, text, and email
Develop and maintain detailed client prospecting files in the CRM
Quote pricing, vehicle availability, and financing options accurately
Overcome objections related to price, credit, availability, and timing
Set and confirm showroom appointments with intent to sell
Meet and greet customers by appointment
Present and demonstrate new vehicle inventory
Receive and process online and manual credit applications
Maintain strong performance metrics including appointment show rate, sales volume, CSI, and gross average
Remain current on products, market trends, and certifications
Follow and execute the dealership’s established sales and lead-handling process
Attend weekly department meetings
Qualifications
Previous Internet Sales, Inside Sales, or Automotive Sales experience required
Strong objection-handling and communication skills
Confident phone presence and professional written communication
Ability to follow structured processes consistently
Self-motivated, competitive, and goal-driven
Comfortable working in a commission-based role
